about the teacher

jules clancy Hi! I’m Jules Clancy, the creator of the food blog Stonesoup and the Stonesoup Virtual Cookery School.

I believe in the power of simple recipes and am committed to mostly cooking recipes with 5 ingredients or less for the rest of my life.

A qualified food scientist, I packed in my day job as a chocolate biscuit designer for Australia‚Äôs largest biscuit company to become a full time blogger at the beginning of 2010. The aim is to use my food science powers for good. And I’m really excited to be taking the opportunity to teach people about simple cooking with this Virtual Cookery School.

I am a writer, photographer and aspiring minimalist. When I am not cooking, writing about food or taking photographs [of food], I can be found indulging my passions for long boozy lunches, running, travel, cookbooks, boating on Sydney harbour, cheese and red shoes. I divide my time between the city of Sydney and the country Snowy Mountains.

about the recipes

The majority of the recipes in the Virtual Cookery School contain a maximum of 5 ingredients. And the majority can be made in 10 minutes or less.

Each written recipe comes with its own instructional video, a written problem solving guide to help you avoid common problems. There is also a list of alternative options for different dietary requirements, serving suggestions and an evaluation of the leftover potential.

about the timing

ALL classes are designed to be studied in your own time. So you can take any class, at any time from the date the material goes live.

Great site you have here but I was curious about
if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics talked about here?
I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get comments from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Many thanks!
